"Gobi Сhallenge-2020" camel trekking to be aired

"Gobi Challenge 2020" camel trekking reality show will be available every Saturday on TV8 channel starting from January 9th, 2021. The reality show designed to promote Mongolian Gobi, well known for its scenic unique nature and camel culture was co-organized by the Erkhet Mongol media group, TV8 channel, and Temeen Jinchin Foundation.

Ten contestants representing various social sectors have braved winter cold weather to overcome 650 km of distance on camels.

"Gobi Challenge 2020" which is recognized as a winter tourism brand new product started in Noyon soum of Umnugobi province on October 26th, 2020 and finished at Khongor sand dunes in Sevrei soum, Umnugobi province on November 11. It took the participants 17 days to travel 650 km of distance to reach the finish.

The tour route went through Toli (Mirror) rock, Good Moon valley, Mt Noyon, Tost, Toson Bumba range, Khermen Tsav, Zuunmod, Zulganai, Naran Daats, Nemegt, Ikh Khongil, Mt Sevrei, Khongor sand dunes all of which are most favorite tourism destinations of Mongolian Gobi.

Apart from being aired on TV8, the "Gobi Challenge 2020" will also be presented via Chinggis international news agency. Moreover, photo pictures featuring Gobi nature, and camel trekking adventures are to be displayed for wider audience soon.

The national content was co-initiated by Kh.Mandakhbayar, Erkhet Mongol media group director general and N.Baigalmaa, head of the Temeen Jinchin Foundation. According to Kh. Mandakhbayar, Gobi Challenge project is a result of hard works of a large number of people. "The project idea would never happen, had Baigalmaa not trekked 7300 km of distance through territories of several different countries. I thank Baigalmaa for making the reality show happen” Mandakhbayar said. According to him, the project is planned to make international. Mandakhbayar thanked the Ministry of Culture, Emergency Management Authority, General Authority for Border Protection and many other organizations for their assistance and support in promoting Mongolian Gobi in the world and expressed his confidence that the project would make a prominent contribution to the nature conservation and raising awareness of young generations of cultural heritage and patriotism.
